I really like my Mortise Pal. I have owned it for many years and I have used it hundreds of times. It does not look like they are made any more. Too bad. I call it my “poor man’s domino jointer”.

The Mortising Pal comes with several templates that allow you to make different sized mortises. I have broken (worn out) my favorite template. I am not having any luck finding a replacement.

Does anyone know where I can buy a replacement template? I need the template with 4 individual holes.

Thanx in advance for any help provided.

If I traced my templates do you think you could get a CNC guy to replicate them?

I’ve been thinking. If I cannot buy a OEM part, I might try to make one. I might be able to make one out of plexiglass. I think (for me) it would be easier to do it with wood. I’d try hardwood (maple) that is 1/8th inches thick.

Rich, there was a LJ that had a machine shop that would make them, Sadly, he is no longer with us. My concern is that wood wouldn’t hold the tolerances for the side walls of the mortises. I seem to recall that the templates were 0.002” greater than the router guide template. I will try to find someone willing to make them in aluminum when I am ready for replacements.
