I picked up some maple logs and am curious if anyone has come across purple streaks in the heartwood before?
Any thoughts on what this is or how it is for woodworking once the lumber drys out?

I’ve never seen purple in maple. I have seen purple in poplar. The discoloration in poplar has not every been an issue for me.
