where to buy wood in minnesota

Another lumber yard is the Root River Lumber Company down near Rochester. I havent boughten wood from them, but have heard from others that say they have a good supply. I will buy from Rockler and Woodcraft in a pinch, but they are higher than the lumber companies. The trick is to belong to the Minnesota Woodworkers Guild. The membership is just $30 and its a great group of folks. They have monthly meetings usually with a guest that demonstrates woodworking. With the membership, you can get the wood at Youngbloods for wholesale. Rockler and Woodcraft will give you 10% off.

hey snowyriver, how would someone get a minnesota woodworkers guild?
I have used youngbloods, and gone to rockler. There are a couple of websites that have lists of lumber yards, but they have no others in my part of MN. Good luck, and let me know if you find a good source

MInneapolis is few hrs away from me, and I have delivered lumber there before. So if anyone or group is ever interested please feel free to ask. I may be heading that way soon if anyone needs some stock in the near future.
