Topic tags/keywords: dwe7491 riving knife saw blade selection

The Dewalt Riving knife on the DWE7491 requires the saw blade kerf to be greater then 0.094 and the blade body thickness to be less then 0.079. Very few aftermarket blades fit these parameters. Just Dewalt’s as far as I can tell. What are other owners of the 7491 doing? Thanks.

Body thickness should be nearly irrelevant…it’s the overall kerf width that matters most (tooth width + all runout = kerf width). AFAIK, the Irwin Marples line has a kerf of 0.098” on all those blades, and are good quality for a reasonable price…you can get a 24T ripper for < $30 and 60T crosscut for ~ $55. The Forrest WWII TK is 0.100, the Infinity Combomax Lite (010-150) is 0.097”, the CMT 214.040.10 is 0.102”.
