Topic tags/keywords: turning

I just started building two night stands.
I want to turn the front.legs
Even if I have a lathe in France I never used it.
I bought a lather at my favorite store this afternoon.
It was on sale and as usual the manager, who knows mew, still accepted the 20% discount coupon, my cost for the lathe:$179.00+tax,
This is a very nice lathe, very well made and finished.
Now I need to learn , fast, how to use it.
I also bought a set of HS chisels.
Does any one know free tutorial videos on the Internet?
Does any one know about free leg patterns?
I goggled but I found nothing interesting.
Thank you.

Youtube has tons of videos on woodturning . Just type Woodturning in the search window .

If you try searching for the exact style leg template you may come up with something .

Don’t forget about sharpening your tools , if you don’t have something to do this you may want to buy something .

Some templates here >> .

You’ll find some excellent turning related information here >

Happy turning

I’m just starting to use my lathe and contacted a local Lathe Club about joining. The person I talked to from the club was very nice and invited me to the next meeting. A member of the club contacted me shortly and invited me to his shop for a lesson the lesson went well and I’m going to the club’s next meeting next Tuesday. I think it will be very informative and after the meeting I will hopefully be setting up a visit at another member’s shop. I’ll try to keep you posted on what happens, a club may be the best way to learn.
