I was walking through a consignment furniture store the other day and I noticed this red oak coffee table. (If you are wondering, it sits on a simple metal base.)

I just wonder: what did this thing sell for new!!!

That’s pretty typical for a consignment store, its what the seller wants + a profit for the store.

MisterBill,

I have a metal base red oak coffee table setting on the covered patio. The frame came from an old coffee my son bought when he was broke. I painted the frame black and built and installed a 3/4” red oak top. I would be afraid to ask $900 for fear of being laughed at, and I generally do not care what other people think. It seems a little high, especially for a used piece.

Conifur: I believe that it is 9 pieces of 6” x 6” red oak. But that is it, nothing special except for the price!

KY Sean: If you look closely you will see the table directly below the price tag!

JBrow: Your table is probably better made than the one that I posted. I was shocked when I saw the price on this table made from ratty old oak!

Have your say...
