An opportunity fell in my lap to get a “scratch and dent” Minimax FS30 for what sounds like a good deal. I had a chance to inspect the machine. The damage I see is from shipping and amounts to the small plastic end cap on the fence rail being smash a little bit. Rail look fine. Nothing looks dented. I also saw something that doesn’t look like its from shipping (I think). The plastic cover that goes over the rear gear assembly doesn’t fit on cleanly. Everything about this machine seems to be too notch but this rest plastic cover just looked a little “off”. I have been know to be anal so, it could just me me. Everything else looks fine. Still has all the shipping goop they put on it. I can get a. new one for $4,100 or this scratch and sent for $3,400. Is that a good deal.

If you order a new one, there’s a good chance it will arrive with similar scratches and dents. I bought my Jet 12” version of that combo from a scratch and dent outlet south of Seattle, and it’s been a great machine. But you probably won’t get the warranty with that deal.
