Will this compressor run an 18 gauge nail gun? I have a bigger, noisier, compressor for most things but sometimes need something very portable.

And more. I have a Campbell Hausfeld 2 gallon compressor that will work fine with a 16 gauge finish nailer. A bit noisy but weighs 10 lbs. compare the specs of a compressor and specs of the nail gun and you can answer the question yourself.

Almost any compressor will run a nailer… they don’t need huge amounts of CFM, just sufficient pressure (typically 50-60 psi). That compressor only has a 1 gallon tank though, so if you are doing something like flooring, it might cycle quite a bit.

I have a California Air compressor that has a 1.6 gal. tank and puts out 1.1 cfm @ 90 psi. It is very similar to the Rolair. It runs my 18 ga nailer for about 20 shots before it recycles. I can also get about 5 shots with my 15 ga finish nailer, so your compressor will work just fine.

Have your say...
