Help Drying Blackjack Crotch

I posted this a few weeks ago. Since then I milled up the logs. They had some amazing mineral stiping. There was also a very nice crotch which I took two thick slabs from. See pics.

After they dry I want to use them for bench tops. They are each 2” thick, and I don’t know how to dry them properly.

So far I painted the ends, stickered, and covered the slabs with a sheet of plywood

. I’m air drying them under the deck.

Is there anything more I can do to keep them from checking?

They need to dry slow. They will crack at the pith. All oak does.
