I’ve been on the search for additional cutters for my #71 Stanley router plane for quite some time when I found a posting by Aidan 1211 offering some items.
Checked with him (Robert Porter) to ask if he might have the cutters. Yep. Price? Reasonable for sure. Sent a check. Got the cutters via USPS (as I requested no rush) in 3 days.
Cutters were as represented, clean, needed sharpening which he offered though I wanted to do the sharpening.
Robert can be expected to offer and represent his items for sale accurately and properly priced.
I am pleased with the transaction and the products. This fellow knows his stuff, and will follow through as we all expect. I highly recommend his offerings.
It is nice to give a shout out to a respectable seller who met my expectations.

I think it’s important too, thanks for the recommendation.

I can second the recommendation. I just bought a stanley #7, #4, and #78 from him (and the total cost including shipping was probably as much as just buying a #7 on ebay). Being the beginner I am, I took Robert up on his offer to sharpen the blades, and they came in razor sharp and ready to cut. He took the time to explain EVERYTHING to me on the phone about each of the planes and gave some great advice on how to sharpen and care for them. We probably spoke for an hour over two phone calls and it was refreshing to deal with a seller who actually cares about your satisfaction with the product.

I can’t recommend him enough if you are looking for some quality tools at very reasonable prices, and they were on my doorstep in a few days.

He told me he also has a bunch of old handsaws for anyone interested, and if you are, you can’t go wrong with buying them from Robert (Aidan1211 on LJ’s).

P.S. I like this idea of rating/reviewing the sellers on here (if there is already a thread on this please let me know), as it will keep everyone honest and let potential purchasers know who they can trust, keep it up guys!

It is good to hear of a (another) stand up member of LJs….

Might I recommend posting this in the review section (also)???

Thanks guys I try to do the best I can! I get it because I’ve bought from shady dealers in the past and as picky as I am it was a pretty big thing. So I try to do what I’d expect from someone else.

Thanks again though guys I appreciate it!
