Well it happened. Bench Dog now has the cookies on sale at your local Lowes. They are only $11.something. I thought about it but I’m just not sold on them yet. They may be useful so I’ll probably go back and get some. I thought for sure someone else would have posted this already but hey, I got the first word I guess. I’m not sure if it’s possible to screw something like that up with a copy/ look alike but you never know. If anyone buys them let us know if they are basically the same or not.

i saw the Bench Dog Cookies at Lowes a couple days ago when i went to buy my new Dewalt DW735 planer… i posted a quick note about the price reduction in my region but forgot to mention the BD cookies….
They appear to be the same exact design and materials as the Rockler cookies. Only they are bright orange!
i have a set of Rockler Cookies my mother bought me for Xmas… i have used them several times and seem to be pretty decent…. problem is i dont remember i even have them!

I just bought a set of these from Lowes and looked them up on the Rockler web site. The Lowes cookie has Bench Cookie on one side and Bench Dog Tools on the other. The Rockler cookie has Bench Cookie on one side and Rockler on the other side. Rockler sells bench dog tools. The ones I bought were the same price. I bet if you bought enough of these things you could have anything printed on them. Just think about it YARYDOCS BENCH COOKIES. :-)

As long as they glow in the dark any color is fine with me

how about hot PINK so you never lose them (or have them stolen… lol)
I have a hot pink extension cord and nobody seems to want to steal it… they have taken all my others, but left that one behind… oh well, going back to Home Depot to buy another PINK extension cord… lol

I’m pretty sure Rockler owns Bench Dog as of last year or the year bofore IIRC. I think Rockler is doing this to expand its market to places that sell Bench Dog products but aren’t a licensed Rockler distributor.

Yup, I own the Benchdog CI router table. Rockler bought them out a couple of years back.

I have a Bench Dog Pro Plate router plate. Identical to the Rockler plate except the color.

I’ve got a set of Rockler Bench Cookies. When I first saw them I thought they were an advertising gimick. LOML got me a set for stocking stuffer for Christmas. I use them on nearly every project since I got them… They are way more useful than I thought they would be…

Somebody needs to do a video parody on bench cakes. Just like a bench cookie except….the size of a cake :)

OK, I do realize this is a VERY old topic, but I just couldn’t resist posting this one, sorry! :)

I just found out that Lee Valley has their own version of a bench cookie, but with a Canadian twist—sort of… They are selling – get this! – real hockey pucks, which have exactly the same dimensions as Rockler/BD thingies, along with stick-on pads cut to size. This “DYI kit” from Lee Valley will cost you $1 per puck, plus $2.95 for a set of 8 pads (plus tax). Cheaper than plastic ones, heavier and much more sturdy (practically indestructible). I stopped by their store on my way from work today, and bought some for myself. :)

I just love Lee Valley and their non-standard thinking with a sense of humour! :)))
