I have 2 porter cable routers and both have conked out. SO I go to buy a new motor and they are about 2x the price of a new router and all the attachments. What gives? Is there anyplace I can order just the motor at a reasonable price?

Not likely. I have seen motors for the 7518 sold by itself for router tables, and save a few bucks but I’m not even sure they are available anymore (Woodpeckers had them at one time, I think). When you say conked out: are they totally shot or just in need of some minor thing like brushes/switch/something? Otherwise it’s probably best to start considering the new models.

have you checked the brushes? they can be easily replaced on a PC router.
