Topic tags/keywords: dw735 planer dewalt price knives lowes

I stopped by the my local Lowes at lunch and noticed that the Dewalt DW735 planer is now $549.00 marked down from $649.00 (which is the most common price i have seen everywhere)..... Also the replacement knives for the DW734 are marked down (dont remember the price…maybe $8 or so)

Just a FYI if you are in the market for a new planer like myself!

These stores are really pricing items regionally. My Lowes has that planer and the price hasn’t budged from 649. Also somebody blogged about Lowes discontinuing their Delta tools line and same thing..the band saws at my Lowes are the same price they always have been…I’m used to it…we always pay more for everything here in CT!

Some Home Depot stores had the DW735 for around $300 … but not the ones in my area. It is still $649 here.

You can get the 735x model with extra blades and input and output tables for $579 online from a few sellers.

I saw this yesterday. I haven’t been paying attention to it so i wasn’t sure what the usual price was but i had seen it was down to 550

If a tool is sold at a discounted price through a big box retailer, even
only as a promotion for a short time, it soon shows up on the second-hand
market for even less.

So if the planer is selling for less, even on a limited basis, the hobby
guys will buy it, find out how challenging woodworking really is,
and sell off the tools to pursue a less demanding hobby. If you know
what you want, are a bit flexible, you can outfit a shop for about 40%
of what the retail buyers pay.

It’s $549 at the Lowes in my area. Don’t forget that with this model you really need to buy the extensions. I think (not certain) that they cost about $50.
