Hi All,

I am making a jewelry box from Indian Rosewood and Cherry Wood. The box walls, bottom and lid will be from the Rosewood, and the drawer body will be from the Cherry wood. I am wanting to give the box itself a reddish color after finishing, and the cherry wood I want to be a lighter color. Can anyone recommend ways to finish each of the woods? This is my first project so any help would be great thank you.

The cherry is going to darken significantly over time. If you are wanting a lighter color wood to go with the rosewood, Cherry might not be the best choice.

Do you have any recommendations of a different wood to use. I was planning for it to be the walls and floor of the drawer.

Also in regards to finishing, what would be your recommendations for the Rosewood. Thank you for the help.
