I have been working with some Southern Yellow Pine and it has left “resin” on the working parts of my power tools. While I have vacuumed out the sawdust there is still resin inside my table saw and band saw. Any suggestions on how to clean them?

Growing up, we would’ve used gasoline ;)

Will denatured alcohol do it?

The correct solvent for pine tar is turpentine. Like dissolves like.

Looking more closely I see this topic has been discussed several times on LumberJocks.

I’d agree with Mark and also add acetone as an alternative.
