Topic tags/keywords: bit brace hand drill bit brace repair drill-driver

Hey everyone,

I’ve just been gifted a Stanley H1253 Handyman bit brace (not sure how old). I’m in the process of restoring it (removing the rust, etc.), but since I’ve never done this before I’ve ran into a problem. I don’t know how to remove the swivel assembly that the head is attached to. I want to get it apart and clean it if I can, or order some new parts, but I have to get if off first, and I can’t see how.

Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance,
Ryan
