Will all the segmented work I have been doing over the past year or so, I’ve been trying to find others with my same passion. I found the Segmented Woodturners group. This group is a sub-group of the AAW. I finally joined the group earlier this month and posted a couple of my pieces. I was informed yesterday that one of my pieces has been selected as the “Photo of the Week” and is prominantly displayed on the website’s home page!

I could not be more excited & honored and I wanted to share!

I was just thinking about you! Yesterday, I made some wine stoppers for the school where I used to work. They have a silent auction to raise money to pay for travel expenses when the kids go to their skills competition. I thought about your segmented stoppers but realized I didn’t have enough time to get some made before the auction. Maybe next year.

Congratulations on the honor! BTW, I met a turner- Ruth Neils, who belongs to that AAW. She lives only about 20 miles from me!

Darryl, that is great. It is always nice to see fellow LJs get the recognition that is so richly deserved.

As I have said before I enjoy seeing your turnings and cannot imagine the time, effort and skill that it takes to produce pieces like the bottle stopper from all those small pieces of wood.

Darryl, you richly deserve the honour bestowed on you by the selection of one of your wine stoppers as the ” Photo of the Week”.
