i have been searching for a good used lathe for a while now, and have wanted to get into wood bowl turning for years. i think i have narrowed it down to 2 that i have found unless other suggestions are given. first is a grizzly 1174 but it doesnt look like a stock grizzly its on a very heavy duty, 6’ long base. and the other is a old delta that has been refurbished. grizzly is a 14” swing and delta is a 12”. both are 1/2 hp motors, the grizzly has 3 speed settings starting out around 800 the delta was switched over from the dial speed to a jackshaft system. the grizzly comes with tools and a new super nova chuck for 600. the delta doesnt come with any extras and is 350. any input on weather i am on the right track or should look at something else is welcome.

Turinburls did a review of the Woodtek 12” VS, hit the reviews tab at the top of the page! Looks quite good for the $.
