I just got a box of wood from Rob, otherwise known as socalwood here on LJ’s. This stuff is totally, unbelievably B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!!!!!!!!!! Olivewood, coastal live oak, teak, redshank burl, milan live oak, eucalyptus, and two I don’t know for sure but it looks like redwood.

Folks, you have to see this to believe this. This is gorgeous wood. Really.

Thank you socalwood! I will be making some pens and stuff very soon, and will post the pictures.

This stuff is great and I can’t wait to get at it. I just put it out in the shop, but tomorrow I have to “prep” for my colonoscopy on Friday, so I don’t see much shop time until Saturday. :)

But, thank you again. And I hope everyone on LJ’s supports our fellow LJ members like socalwood!

He really is a top notch guy. ALWAYS helping the fellow woodworkers. I can’t wait to get back up to his yard and get some wood from him. I’ve been wanting to do so for over a year now. Work has just been so slow and funds are low. Soon Rob, Soon!!!

I have a large quantity of fresh blonde color eucalyptus wood for those who are interested. I have a small grove of trees in Central California near the Sequoia National Park-both cut and uncut. I’ve used it for furniture and and outside as lawn border. If you’re interested let me know-
