This massive Elm Tree recently was taken down due to finally dying from Dutch Elm Disease. Heard on TV a while ago that much of the wood was spread around to Maine woodworkers o create their magic.

Was wondering if any LJ’s was able to score a piece, and if so, what are they going to make?

I am a Maine woodworker and I didn’t get any – didn’t even know they were sharing. Wonder how I can get a piece of Herbie.

This is a cool story and a cool tree…too bad they all aren’t used…maybe some day.

Have your say...
