Is the internet beginning to get boring? Tonight I was checking the stats on my free plans site and when I got to the search strings that find it in the search engines I found my first.

The usual search strings show free furniture plans, free woodworking plans, etc.

Well tonight when I checked them one of the search strings other than the norm was…”anything”.
I had a good laugh but feel honored to be found in the search strings…”anything”. lol

I hope the dude found something he or she liked.

Just curious… what stats program does your hosting site use?

Cheers,

In our hosting business we use several different programs. Those we use to monitor brute force attacks and ddos attacks against our vps and dedicated servers.

All of our client accounts are cPanel accounts. Our cPanels for our clients have two stats programs in them, Awstats and Weblilizer. We’ve found out over the years they do a much better job than Google Analytics of getting true reports.

Most people think a hit on their site is a viewer viewing there site but it isn’t. If you have a hit counter showing you’re getting 200 hits a day you may actually be getting just several people a day seeing your site. I’ll try to do a tutorial on that soon so anyone can see what is actually going on with their site.

LOL – thanks. I do know a little about stats though, and how to interpret them (I wrote one of the programs you are using :) I’ll leave it up to you to figure out which one <grin>

Cheers,
Brad

That’s good to know that you have written a stats program that is used in probably 99% of all cPanels. You should feel honored. I hope you’re getting paid well for it You certainly deserve it and I’ll say thank you for the program.

We’ve got our own program that reads only the bots hitting a site.

Are you familiar with this site? http://map.norsecorp.com/#/
It gives you an idea more or less of cyber warfare.

Thanks for the kudos… but no, I’m not making any money from it. Just happy that others have found it useful.

Cheers,
Brad

I’d think yes.
