I am working on a piece of furniture with 1” round stock and I don´t know how to cut and join these 2 pieces of round stock, and have everything flush.
Any idea of how to do this?
Your help is very much appreciated,

Forstner bit the same dia as rod. Use a V-block to hold it steady.

Drill a hole in a piece of wood and set the rail (horizontal piece) in it. Then run a router with a core box bit that is that diameter of the leg across it to make the cove shape. You want it buried in another piece of sacrificial wood to avoid tear out. That is one way. More people will be sure to chime in, soon.

+1 on the forstner bit, preferably with a drill press. Just be sure you’re over the center of the dowel.
