Hi guys, Newbie here.

I am relatively new to woodworking and now want to get a bandsaw. Just come across an opportunity to buy a Wilton Band Saw, Model 8201, for $450.00. It is a 14 inch and is able to cut both wood and metal. Problem is I not at all familiar with this brand. Seen and read about all the popular models, i.e. Delta, Jet, Grizzly, etc. The saw is relatively new and it appears to be in great shape. Appreciate any feedback.

Wilton and Jet are the same company (WMH Tool Group). I am looking at purchasing a 8201 myself so I am jealous of your find!

I have seen them both with the JET and Wilton logos.

I think they just add a “J” in front of the 8201 to designate Jet. The Jet ones are on sale until April for $995 so at $450 it seems like a steal!

Wilton is a very respectable industrial equipment manufacturer. Probably better known for their metalworking equipment.
