Seems like the Olympics aren’t just for athletes. There is actually an “Olympics” for woodworkers! The World Skills Championship actually awards medals for woodworking. What struck me about this video is that the craftsman profiled talks about precise tolerances – down to ONE-TENTH OF A MILLIMETER! Check out this video!

Need to throw in real world difficulties. Like the customer showing up and telling “Gary” that she thought in her mind the cabinet would be taller and she aint payin for it. Then Gary tells customer where she can put cabinet and gets valuable points deducted :)

Wow that amount of tolerances are way to tight for me, reason I do wood working instead of following after my grandfather and being a Machinist. Pretty impressive.

You are right Chris, I have a tool and die backgroung and sometimes it is hard not to mix them up sometimes

I got to go to the American finals, but was too old to go to internationals. They did have an age limit.
