JerryLH,

I am not in or around OK, so I cannot answer your question. Since no one has chimed in, I will tell you of my table and radial arm saw blade sharpening experience.

I have 2 Forrest Woodworker II Combination blades. I used these blades quite a lot since buying them new so it was time to sharpen them. I made no effort to find a local sharpening shop mainly because I do not know the skill level at a local shop and did not want to put these expensive blades to the test.

I packaged the blades up and shipped them to Forrest. Within a few days of their receipt of the blades they called and told me a few teeth were damaged and recommended these damaged teeth be repaired. After giving the go ahead, they repaired and sharpened both blades. It cost $86 for both blades combined. It took about two weeks give or take. When I remounted the blades they cut really well, like new in fact.

I think they will sharpen non-Forrest blades, but you can check that by calling them or looking at their web site

Franz Tool in Oklahoma City. I know that it isn’t Tulsa, but I have heard good thinks about Franz. I send my WWII blades to Forrest and been very happy with the customer service and the results.

Jerry, I live in Jenks and all my sharpening needs are WELL met by BEST Grinding on 11th just E of Memorial. I think they charge 35 cents a tooth and have replaced/repaired teeth on mine.

How about a decent sharpening service in the Milwaukee, WI area as well?

Why don’t you guys asking about sharpening services call any of the local cabinet shops around your location and ask them who they use….. As far as the quality from the sharpening service company, they wouldn’t be around if they did shoddy work. If a local sharpening service has computerized sharpening equipment, you can bet the work will be as good if not better than factory sharpening. Some might be able to make a custom blade if you need something like that.

I think I pay about 25 bucks for a 40 tooth blade, and if it needs any teeth replaced, about a buck each. ....... Jerry (in Tucson)

Thanks for the advice—

“Why don’t you guys asking about sharpening services call any of the local cabinet shops around your location—- “

I should have thought about that – I’ll get on it.
