I got a PM here, yet when I click on his name, he has posted a couple replies that look like he is a woodworker… Spammer, maybe?

I doubt many fall for it any more these days. But I do know a guy who got conned years ago when this crap first started.
He had advertised a Honda GoldWing for sale and some guy contacted him who wanted to buy it. Sent him a cashiers check to cover the sale, but he also sent “extra” money so my buddy would call a freight company to come get the bike. Took the check to his bank and they said it was legit. So he completed the transaction.

Fast forward two months and his bank called and told him the check was a forgery, and they were charging it back to him!

Long story short, he took the bank to court. The judge sided with the bank and HE LOST the suit against the bank. He had to sell his gas station to cover his losses, which included the loss of the M/C, which the police could do nothing because he was in Canada and the M/C had been shipped to Israel.
