When ordering lumber from a lumber yard…..what is an average/standard quantity tolerance?

I just ordered a large qty of lumber and they shipped 16% more than ordered.

I always thought 5% (+ or -) was standard.

I imagine it depends on how the yard picks the lumber. I’ve gotten some boards where parts were marked “bad” and not included in the total volume. Because I don’t mind cutting out the unusable parts, I typically end up with more than I ordered.
