Topic tags/keywords: question bosch trim router arbor lock button repair router traditional

Does anyone have a Bosch Colt trim router with arbor lock button problems? I have had this router for about 3 or 4 years, it’s been a great tool. I recently have experienced difficulty using the red arbor lock button used to change bits. The button is hard to press and seams to be to short to engage the arbor shaft. I have been forced to remove the routers base and use two wrenches to loosen the collet. Has anyone had this problem or a solution to fix it?

If I remember correctly, everytime this tool was reviewed they mentioned the very problem you are talking about….just a design flaw. not aware of any solution.

I bought one not long ago and it came with 2 wrenches, never used the arbor lock button.
