Topic tags/keywords: turning nova dvr xp teknatool lathe woodlathe

I ordered my dvr xp about 2 weeks ago when woodcraft had the offer to get a free sn2 chuck, cole jaws and insert when you ordered a dvr xp. now no websites have that sale listed, I can’t find the offer anywhere to get the form to send in. also woodcraft and No other websites are even selling the dvr xp what the hell is going on? Did the dvr xp just fall off the face of the earth? It feels like I got scammed but I really hope not. Anybody know what’s going on?

If you ordered through Woodcraft, you should have an order number somewhere on the final page. (Hope you printed it out, or wrote it down if you called.)
I’d call them and have them look up the order number in their computers.
Bet its on backorder, but on the outside chance your number is invalid, make sure your payment was not put through.

I remember that offer. They may have been liquidating the XP, the new Galaxia is coming out maybe they are shifting models around.

Did you receive your lathe? If so call Woodcraft and ask for the form, if it hasn’t arrived yet the form will most likely be in the paperwork.

link to technatool.

On their Facebook page someone commented that they tried to order the XP during Woodcrafts sale and was told they were all sold out and not taking backorders. That post was yesterday.

I got my lathe. got it all hooked up and tried it out, everything lined up good and works. too early to say anything else. I did get ahold of woodcraft though and they sent me the rebate form that I couldn’t find. They said that the DVR XP is on backorder everywhere which is why I didn’t see it for sale anymore. now i’m just trying to figure out the bowl gouge angle that works best for me. I have my benjamins best 1/2” that i’ve been practicing with and changing the grinds on to try out. I was using about a 45 degree for a couple months and now I switched it to a 60 degree to see. Definitally 2 very different styles so I think this is going to burn through a lot of firewood until I figure out what works best for me.
Thanks for the help.

Glad to hear that you were able to get the rebate forms.

I have the the XP and love it. have you taken a look at the Ellsworth grind for your bowl gouge? I like the grind, it is pretty versatile and aggressive at the same time. I bounce between my Easywood tools and that bowl gouge. It’s all a matter of preference.

Happy turning.

Good to hear everything is up and running now for you. Make sure you add some weight to the stand of the lathe you have and also make sure the ways are level so there is no twisting which will give some problems there.

Also I received the Maple from you
