Topic tags/keywords: hinge

Hello out there….anyone else sick of shoveling snow??? I am going to have a go at installing straight, knife hinges (the doors are overlay) on a cabnit I am in the process of building. I get the general idea on their installation but I am looking for advice/suggestions/secret tricks/etc. from those who have experienced with them. I would welcome advice on any aspect of the installation (proper lay out, cuting the mortise, etc.). Thanks in advance.

The trick to success is accuracy. If you make yourself a spacer that represents the distance you need to get the hinge in position on the door, then all the mortises on the cabinet will be in the same place. This link should help.
