Topic tags/keywords: logging chainsaw video

OK it doesn’t exactly qualify as a portable sawmill, but it was a catchy title…

That is my way of cutting fire wood! I was as much impressed with the guy running the machine. Thanks for posting.

Don’t know much about this stuff, but that looks like pulp wood for paper or OSB…..................thinking back, we made money in boy scouts by cutting pulp wood like that….....not much automation in those days….....

Watch Ax Men or Swamp Loggers on one of the cable channels. Lots a cool equip. There’s a grappling, sawing, lay-down thing that uses a giant sold disc with big carbide teeth! There is some serious energy built up in that blade. The video below doesn’t show the blade, but it does give you an idea of how big of a tree it can take down in a matter of seconds.

I watched a few eps of Ax Men, but it just didn’t grab me for some reason (usually I like those reality shows like Deadliest Catch and such, thought I’d love Ax Men, but, meh, dunno. shrugs)

tho yes the gear is pretty cool :D
