I have the link in my e-mail but I don’t know how to move it here. I will keep trying. Thanks for your indulgence. The content of the article was posted on the American wood turners site, Feb. 2010 and basically stated that a new law will monitor safety of handmade items.

This law is designed for large corporations to gain total market share of childrens articles. This is another example of China cutting out the competition. This law was planned to do this.
Our culture of individuality and ingenuity has been under attack for many decades.

We MUST fight this intrusion!!!

The problem is that our government followed their normal course of action and passed a law before understanding the fallout from their stupidity. The intention was to fix all the problems with China lead issues we have seen in their exported toys over the past few years. Unfortunately, they wrote it so it applied to everyone and every company. Our government doesn’t have the balls to just crack down on unsafe China junk. They prefer to make the laws broad so they don’t offend or look like they are targeting anyone in particular.

I have heard that there is movement in Congress to correct this issue. There is a whole forum dedicated to this subject on Etsy.
