I don’t know if there is anything that can be done about this, but it ticks me off and I want to raise awareness. Today, out of curiosity, I decided to see if I could find my own project here on LJs by doing a Google image search. Sure enough I found it (my recent wardrobe), and to my surprise in probably the top 10 results, but when I clicked on the image it took me to the website http://www.cooldiywoodworkingeasyprojects.com/
There was my project with the exact same description I wrote here on Lumberjocks – nothing else. Then I started scanning around this website and was recognizing other LJ members projects. It seems to me that is all that this pathetic website is. They just steal the content from LJs and re-post it on their’s without giving credit. There is no value added whatsoever. They don’t seem to have any original content. It seems the website only exists to use other’s work to create advertisement revenue. The only thing that seemed original was some barely coherent rambling write-up on the contact page, which is just a dead end as far as any actual contact information.
If there was anything of value about this site I wouldn’t be writing this rant. I’d be honored if my project could be found elsewhere and was part of some critique or discussion, and if it at least gave credit to the maker. None of that exists at cooldiywoodworkingeasyprojects.com.
Again, I don’t know if anything can be done. Hopefully this catches the attention of LJs admin though, in case they care to do anything about it (if they even can). Otherwise I just thought people should know.
