The all penetrating fine saw dust almost forced me to stop doing anything with wood. My shop is a part of my garage where as usual there is a lot of other stuff, starting from bicycles and ending Christmas decorations. I used to open a side door of the garage and put a fan under a partially opened garage door, that helped a little at the expense of the outside dust residue on the windows, cars, etc. It also meant I had to stop early because of the noise coming through the open doors and from the fan.
I bought a Jet air cleaner from HD and it was waiting unpacked in the box. I was debating whether it worth opening it as once opened I would not return it to the store ( even though I could I hate to misuse return policies).
So I finally opened it, hung it from the ceiling and proceed doing some routing work, that normally would create a lot of mess in the garage. I worked about two hours creating a lot of dust, the air cleaner was on on medium airflow. After I finished I set the timer to 4 hours and left.
In the morning I opened the garage door to take my bicycle and was stunned. The shiny bicycle frame was as shiny as it was when I left it. Not a speck of dust on it ! I inspected the garage and yes ! No fine saw dust film on anything ! Normally after such work everything in the garage would be covered by some amount of dust.
If you do not have the air filter you are missing a lot. Get it !
