Topic tags/keywords: spokeshave advice model suggesiton

Hey guys I’m looking for a spokeshave, but I don’t want to spend crazy money on one. I’d like to be in the $30 to $40 range. If anyone has any recommendations I’d appreciate it. I’ve seen the new Stanley ones, but I’m not a fan of anything new from Stanley. Their quality has gone down hill. I’ve seen a few on ebay, but I don’t really know which way to go, as this would be my first spokeshave. I’d prefer to get an older and flat bottom model.

If you want a flat bottomed wooden one, Lee Valley makes a kit in your price range.
