I have seen a bench plan in wood magazine’s Dec shop magazine and was wondering if anyone had built it before. I was curious on how sturdy and heavy it is. It seems to me that it would work as a good quality medium duty bench. The top is two 3/4 inch MDF glued together and encased in soild maple boarder then all is laminated. The supports are 1/2 inch MDO with solid maple frame cabinets. One end will have pull out drawers for power tool storage and the other side will have shelves for cabinet storage. On one side is a woodworkers vise. The plans were nicely laid out and it looked to be a job I could tackle. The price would probably run 150 to 200 with all the wood and hardware.
