Topic tags/keywords: question festool grizzly track saw rail connectors

I need to join two Festool 55 inch rails for a TS 55 track saw. According to Internet information I need two of the Festool rail connectors at $18 each + shipping. Currently Grizzly has their track saw rail connectors (for their saw) in stock for $3.69 each and I have a coupon for free shipping.

Has anyone used the Grizzly rail connectors with the Festool track? If how well do they work?

I e-mailed Grizzly support and their reply was basically: we don’t know, we are only interested in selling Grizzly track saws, and we won’t send you the dimensions of our connectors. They will sell them to me and if they won’t fit accept them back with a 10% restocking fee. This is the WORST customer support I have ever received from Grizzly!

Thanks in Advance,

Does anyone have the Grizzly rail connectors that you could measure and send me the measurements?

You’re upset because Grizzly won’t go out of their way to get you very specific details on a small sub-$5 part, so you can use it with another brand of tool? They won’t have a customer service person and/or tech support person do a bunch of legwork for the $2 in profit you plan to provide?

The horror… Shame on Grizzly!

The 10% restock fee if you don’t want it sounds pretty reasonable to me.

Waho609: thank you for the pointers. Yes I was planning on making my own then I encountered a comment on the Internet that Grizzly had connectors that might fit the Festool hence my enquiry.

Then again, they might not. Why don’t you just get the Festool connectors that you know will fit?

I don’t understand how you can say Grizzly has poor customer service. At least they emailed you back. Why should they help you with another Major Competitor brand of tool?

My dealings with Grizzly customer service have been exceptional.

Is this a joke or a real complaint?

If this is real I apologize to the person at grizzly that took the call.
