Hi all I have managed to aquire some oak slabs which I am slowly resawing to manageable dimensions, I am hoping that some kind soul on this forum would be able to donate a plan, sketch of a mission ,greene and greene style night stand , small cupboard with drawer , I have trouble drawing, sketching as every time I start I seem to get bogged down with what ifs and indecision regarding the details and dimensions.
The stand is to act as an end table come store for my wife’s knitting bits and bobs, as said I have the oak and some laburnum pruning to make the pins, plugs from.
It seems that retirement has left me a little lacking in conviction,is that just me?.
Any help regarding these plans ,sketches very welcome,

I bet or have what you need.

This one may not be exactly what you are looking for, if not, try another search on the same site for end tables or night stands.

Measure the space, measure your widest stock. Start with a sketch of something you like. Add dimensions & build it. If anyone other than you/spouse does it you’ll be doing it again before you know it!

Listen to your spouse!

Hi fellas thanks for the helpful replies, the stock I have is short slabs circa 3 ins thick approx 30 ins long varying in width from 9 ins to 14 in between the live edges ,I have sawn some oversize for frame and leg parts, I can’t find anyone who is willing to resaw the wider boards, the local companies that have this equipment won’t resaw materials that are not supplied by them due to insurance , so max board width will be less than 8 ins so t will be edge jointed, I have made some space in a closet indoors to store the resaw bits to stabilise them, just haven’t told the missus yet,

Have your say...
