A few days ago I won an eBay auction for a new set of Timberline (#440-16) Shaker 1/2” shank rail & stile bits for $25.00 plus $5.00 shipping, which I thought was a pretty good price considering they retail for $113.00 and sell on the web in the $75-85 price range. They arrived in perfect condition today. I can’t wait to see how they perform. I believe Timberline is made by Amana, but is their lower-priced line. I will share my experience with them as soon as I have time to take them for a spin. If anyone has had a good (or bad) experience with Timberline bits, please let me know, as I may try for one of the raised panel bits. This particular seller has more to sell of this style, along with several Timberline raised panel bits starting at $15 & $25 (#420-10 Ogee & #460-13 Cove), and several lots of 5 Timberline router bits with 1/4” shanks starting at $15, all with $5 shipping (very fast shipping…I paid for them on Sunday and received them on Thursday.) I was outbid the first few times I tried, but it seems that everyone that might have wanted one has already purchased theirs, so from what I am seeing now, you stand a good chance of having no other bidders bid against you if you are the first bidder…no one bid against me…and maybe I was just lucky. The most I have seen one sell for was $35, which is still a good deal.
