Hello All:
I picked up a new in box Jessem Zip Slot Mortise Mill with all the extras recently. Yesterday I set it up and cut a few mortises in hard maple using my Bosh cordless drill. This drill has a max speed of 1700rpm which is within the range Jessem specifies. Even so, it seemed really slow for the application. I’m used to cutting mortises with a router which is a much smoother process than what I experienced with the Jessem/Bosh combination.
My question to those of you who have used one of these is: Have you tried to use a router instead of a drill? If so, how did it go? Yes, I will try it myself but thought I would seek experience first.
Thanks in advance,
Jim
