Topic tags/keywords: question

I’ve finally justified a band saw for my little shop. Now the question is, which one? I want a good re-saw ability 9 or more inches. A couple I’m looking at powermatic 14” which would require a riser block, not sure about this. Have heard both good and bad about adding them to the saw. Next the Rikon 14” which has a 13” resaw, but do not know anything about this brand of tools.

suggestions please

This is the band saw I am considering

They have an optional 6” riser kit http://www.grizzly.com/products/6-Extension-Block-Kit/H3051

It looks like a good band saw. I am trying to figure out if I want to drive there and pick it up or pay the shipping to have it delivered to my house along with the dust collector. Total shipping is 148.00 I am 2 hours from them. So either a 4 hour round trip drive and save 148 or pay the shipping

Have your say...
