Have an offer of $70 but I can’t find much info on it…anyone here have any experience? Would I be better off buying a new craftsman for 179?

Pass. Poor table, poor capacity. Not a quality saw.

Is there a reason you want a 10” saw? If you’re patient, you could very likely pick up a used 14” saw for $150.

Ditto the Crapsman, not sure what you can get in a quality 14 for 150$ without being real patient and fast.

I have to admit, I’ve never seen one like that with the top wheel being driven directly by the motor hanging off the back of the saw on top. Very weird design… maybe that’s why you don’t see them much in the wild, or can find much info on them. I guess for $70 it might be worth a try if the thing runs well. If you don’t like it, you can always re-sell it to recover most if not all of your money. I’d personally pass on it and wait for a better machine to show up.

Cheers,
Brad

Thanks, I’ve been combing all the apps and Craigslist for over a month and haven’t found a 14” that’s been under 500!! Tons of crappy, antique 10” though…I need a band saw kinda soon so I’m kinda stressing

Just for comparison, I checked my local CL. Right now there’s a Sprunger 14” for $100 that needs new tires ($30-$40). Also a Taiwanese 14” Delta clone for $160. And there’s always a couple 12” Craftsman tilt-heads for sale that are fine. If you up the budget to $250, you have even more options.
