My new church decided they wanted me to have Wireless Internet instead of having it hard wired at only the church. Now I can ‘roam’ with my lap top anywhere. I know… might not be new to some of you… but wow… to me…. ~How Cool is this!

My son has our house so dialed in with a wireless network, it’s sick.
(And I pretty much don’t have a clue on how it works!)

My grand kids are all gamers, so I had to learn how to tie everything together and make it work. So now when they come over its as if they were at home. But to be honest, I get better news from the Wii than the local channels.

I had to put ttwo wireless routers in my house so that I could cover all the corners. But the workshop I had to hardwire. No signal gets through the steel walls. I putin cable, ethernet and 2 phone lines when I burried wires to the shop.

I’ve had wireless for years and absolutely love it. It is the way to go as long as you have the proper security on your network.

Karson, hardwired is the way to go through steel. And thinking ahead for all 3 protocols was excellent as well. If FIOS ever comes to you (or maybe it already has) you’ll be all set. :)

Way up in da U.P. eh, we just got DSL late last year. Prior to that we suffered with a 26.4K dial up. Now I have a wireless router in our window and amazingly, I’m able to get a signal in my “Workshop in the Woods” which is 100 yards away.

I just got a new laptop for my workshop. Now I’ll have to discipline myself to not spend too much time on the computer.

This is not just a wireless network… Like a router. This is mobile… like get in the car and go three states over and still be connected.

You have a cellular air card? I have that on my work laptop, very handy to surf anywhere, even when traveling!

my son just registered his new cell phone to my wireless network at my house so he can use my network to access internet from his phone when he is over at my house. hold on everyone, it’s getting better and faster.

I can use my cell phone to connect to Lumber Jocks from anywhere I can get WiFi or 3G. The screen is a little small but works well when a computer isn’t handy.

So Kerux, then your flying on a Wi-Max Link for your Internet? Or are you using a cell card? CreekWoosworker, my wife’s company just got her a new notebook on the new 4G network. Like day and nite, but I will wait to see how 4 G develops for a while.

Well, I didn’t want to advertise the company. What I have is like a USB flash drive. It’s all downloaded into the computer and the church get’s a monthly bill.
