Topic tags/keywords: question

we sat down three times today to cast our votes in the ying yang contest . it is quite overwhelming with so many great projects. i guess you need to narrow it down somehow – we have yet to vote . anyone have a system?

A system? Yeah, I pm’d the creators of the projects I liked best, and sold my vote to the highest bidder. (33 times, but, hey… they’ll never know.)

Seriously, it was tough. The entries are so varied and unique that it is impossible in most cases to say one is better than the other. I’m glad I didn’t enter, because I don’t think I could have produced anything that would have held a candle to some of these beauties!

I was inspired by the story of Boudreaux the Cajun who decided to raffle off his mule. He sold 220 tickets at $10 apiece, but unfortunately the mule died before the final drawing.

When he was telling the story to his friend Thibedeaux later, Thibedeaux said “Man, that must have been tough to track down all those people who bought tickets and refund their money.”

Boudreaux said, “Who says I gave them a refund?”

Thibedeaux replied, “You can’t tell me you went ahead and raffled off a dead mule. Didn’t folks complain?”

Boudreaux answered, “The only fellow who complained was the winner, so I just gave him his $10 back.”

The current contest is amazing! What a great array of projects have been entered. Does anyone know…is this a record for number of entries? In my limited memory, I believe it is.

Each project deserves it’s own recognition, as they have been lovingly handcrafted by the talented artisans, we call friends, here at Lumberjocks. Great job everyone, and special thanks to Martin!

I viewed every entry carefully, but must admit that in the end, my vote boiled down to personal taste. I voted for the style, type, and complexity of project that I enjoy the most, but EACH entry is very worthy of award. I changed my vote several times, and in the end still don’t know if I found my true top 5.

So sorry, Webwood, I really cannot offer you a “system”. I only wanted to take the opportuity to thank everyone for the great postings!

Great exchange! Has anyone looked into “Is it fair” under the Blog tab?

I read “is it fair” didn’t reply. I voted already, I chose the items I liked best in the order I felt. I know what they are, I never bothered to see who they were. Does not matter to me who made them or how much experience they have. Certain projects touch me and others don’t. Oh and my paypal account is dec…........
