Does anyone know of a good rocking chair plans? I have never made a chair of any kind before. I fell like I could do it, but wanted to build one from a plan to start. I would like to stay away form Mission or Arts and Crafts if I can help it. This will be a graduation present for my sister, which is the other reason for using plans as the time frame is 3-4 months. Thanks in advance!

Wood magazine might be a good place to check out first. I also use woodworking4home.com. You can download their plans and they are easy to follow. I’ve used a lot of their plans for kids and plans for wooden toys.

Interesting. It would be nice if you could see a plan or two before paying…

If you want a Maloof type rocker, there are several being sold.
