TS 3650 belt cut through my extension cord

Yep, I did it. Without realizing my extension cord somehow got draped over my belt, I turned on the saw and bam, within seconds it seemed the belt cut right through the extension cord. And the cord was a big one, I think it was a 15 amp very thick extension cord. Since the motor actually sits under my outfeed table I did not notice the cord hanging over the belt.

Well, I have not had a chance to look further into it but after trying to run the saw I know the belt is not acting properly. The belt is smoking whenever I turn the saw on and the blade seems to get up to speed slowly so something is not right. Since I had to leave to go and install a wall unit I was unable to look at it any closer and when I got home and played “Mr. Lazy”.
