Topic tags/keywords: plane

Saw this on my local kijiji (Canadian Craigslist):

Any ideas what the plane on the right is? Some kind of broken infill perhaps? Thanks.

Maybe a hinge mortise?

It looks to be about the same dimensions as a hinge mortise plane but they usually have much larger mouth, no?

My guess would be mortise plans but would love to get a closer look at it!

Thanks Don, James, and Fridge. I emailed the seller and she thinks its homemade. I’d consider getting it if I were to get one of the other planes she is selling but she wants $100 for the #7 I was interested in. It is in pretty rough shape so I’m going to pass. Anyway, just thought this one looked interesting.
