Someone gave me this blade for my Unisaw its a 60 tooth Freud Crosscut/Rip Blade model LU82M010, I am wondering could I use it on my Hitachi miter saw, it tends to blog down my miter saw motor, I need a blade to cut moldings and trim peices. I dont use my miter saw to cut 2×4’s or 2×6’s thats whats my circular saw for I just use my miter saw for fine cuts only.

There’s no reason you can’t use it on your miter saw, but it is full kerf and isn’t the cleanest cutting 60T blade I’ve used. It is however very durable and will be great for cutting MDF, laminate flooring, and other known blade killers. If you’re looking for something with a finer cut, I’ll give a hearty recommendation to the Infinity 010-060. It shouldn’t tax your miter saw motor as much, will definitely have less tearout, and will also make a super plywood blade for your TS. It also happens to be on sale for $60.

CJ,

As Scott said, no reason you can’t use it but as you mentioned, it is a ripping blade, not a crosscutting blade. You won’t get the “fine cuts” that you say you use the miter saw for.

Try the 80 tooth by Freud. Works like a champ and hardly calls for sanding.

Is your Hitachi Miter Saw 10” or 12”? Freud blades are good.

CJ – I had the LU74 for quite a while here. Very nice blade, but the 010-060 has some advantages…it’s a Hi-ATB design and will have less tearout, and is also an excellent plywood/sheetgood blade. The 010-060 is actually more similar to the Freud LU79, which is also an excellent choice if you want to stay with the Freud brand.
