Has anyone used lacewood for a primary wood on a jewelery box? If so, I sure would appreciate some pictures. Thanks

A friend and I made a batch of 23 Lacewood with Ebony inlay boxes for Christmas gifts a couple of years ago. I will try to put up some photos. Lacewood is a pain to work but looks very nice when finished.
Are you using the lighter or darker type of Lacewood?

I returned recently from a 2 month trip to Brazil and spent some time learning more about Brazillian woods. There are at least 3 types of Lacewood. There are at least 2 species of Lacewood. We are researching a possible third species. They look similar.

There are a few nice examples here. Just do a Search on “lacewood box” in the box provided above.

I’ve made a couple, so here’s where you can see the pictures. If you have questions regarding how it works feel free to ask.

Thanks to everyone. You all have given me some good ideas and valuable info. Yes, I’ve heard that lacewood can really bother those with allergies. It might be a good idea to wear what I wear when I spray lacquer…and wear long sleves and eyewear. Thanks again for the assist.
