...... starts with the first step. I have tried avoiding it, but there is no way around it. Downloaded Sketch-up today and am trying to learn some new skills. Todds’ blog is what brought things to light, thanks I think. I’m still avoiding microwaves and cell phones though. Hopefully I will have something to show for it soon.

Not sure how you can get along in business without a cell phone these day?? Microwaves, eh? Well, you must have a computer so you are not too far back :-)) Sketchup, it’s free, good luck :-))

check out youtube for sketchup tutorials.

also sketchupforwoodworkers.com got some good reviews to start with.

once you’ve got your feet wet, and have questions – just post them and we’ll be able to pick up on that and help you out as needed.

Feel free to PM me if you have any Sketchup related questions as well.

Good luck, and take it in baby steps, learning curve can seem steep, but if you attack it from the right angles, it really isn’t.

just like woodworking – build your basic skills, and then build additional skills on top of that… and so on and so forth , you’ll reach the 1000 miles sooner than you’d imagine

Good for you, Rhett. Learning the software is a challenge but it has a lot of potential, especially for pros like yourself.

We have a local Sketchup guru in DaveR. He even talked me through some very hard stuff on the phone! He’s a great guy and wonderfully talented.
